On Giglio Island you will find clear waters rich in fish to be admired while snorkeling, so don’t forget to take a mask and snorkel! Located in front of the promontory of Monte Argentario, in the last few years the island of Giglio has become tragically known due to the sinking of the Costa Concordia, the cruise ship that, following a collision with a rock, sank, causing deaths and injuries . The island of Giglio is however famous above all for its pristine and spectacular sea. Try to take a boat tour around the island, you will discover hidden and inaccessible coves and inlets from the ground, where you can stop to swim and dive from the rocks. The seabeds are very beautiful where, during diving, it is possible to find Posidonia meadows and submerged caves.
Among the most beautiful beaches of Giglio, we point out that of Campese: it is the largest on the island and is much frequented by tourists attracted by the famous faraglione and by spectacular sunsets on the sea horizon. In the Cannelle beach, just south of Giglio Porto, you will find fine white sand and shallow waters that are perfect for children’s bathing. Cala dell’Arenella, on the northeastern coast of the Island, will present you with tropical sea colors and a backdrop of sand and rock, a true paradise for diving.
